Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands after Tenerife. It lies in the Atlantic Ocean, about 120 kilometres from the Moroccan coast and thus is located at the same latitude as the Bahamas, Mexico and the Western Sahara. Geographically Fuerteventura belongs to Africa, politically Fuerteventura is, however, assigned to the Spanish province of "Las Palmas" - the official language is Spanish.
Fuerteventura is just like the entire Canarian archipelago being of volcanic origin. Although Fuerteventura has been flattened by erosion, the island offers interesting and picturesque natural phenomena: wide plains, rolling hills, jagged rocks, steep cliffs, black lava, volcanic caves and sandy beaches, which are among the most beautiful in Europe.
Sun and beach
Sun, sand and sea - Fuerteventura has the most of these to offer of all the Canary Islands. Fuerteventura is the island which is surrounded by white sand and turquoise sea. The climate is a subtropical desert climate. Temperatures range in the summer months from between 25 ° C - 32 ° C and in the winter months from 20 ° C - 26 ° C. The constant blowing of the trade winds always guarantee a fresh breeze.
